Report on Nutrition and Health Status in Europe

ENHR II

The overall aim of the ENHR II Report on Nutrition and Health Status in Europe project is to provide a European comprehensive and up-to-date report on the nutrition and health data in order to offer the basis for primary preventative strategies of chronic non-communicable diseases that focus on an unhealthy diet, physical inactivity, tobacco use and harmful alcohol consumption. The final report provides information on food supply/availability/consumption, as well as energy and nutrient intake, diet related health indicators and status, and established food and nutrition policies in European countries.

The final report, the European nutrition and health report 2009, contributes to the identification of major nutrition and health problems in the EU regions and to the monitoring and evaluation of food and nutrition policies already in place within the Member States.

The project involves collecting and critically reviewing available data about the most common indicators used for the assessment of the nutrition and health situation in 25 European countries.
