The Forum of Public Health, in which participate academic staff from the Health and Epidemiology Laboratories of Universities throughout the country, in collaboration with other Scientific Institutes of Public Health, organized on 22^nd-25^th November 2018, the 8^th Forum of Public Health and Social Medicine with title "Modern Challenges in Public Health: Taking advantage of the legacy of Professor Dimitrios Trichopoulos".

On 23 November 2018, a special honorary event was held in memory of Professor Dimitrios Trichopoulos at the University of Thessaly.

The "Forum of Public Health and Social Medicine", on the occasion of the Conference, established a "Professor's Dimitrios Trichopoulos award", aiming at strengthening the research work of young scientists, which was always supported and inspired by D. Trichopoulos, who are active in the field of epidemiology and Public Health and they are at the early stages of their careers.
