The 4^th Pan-Hellenic Congress of Public Health and Social Medicine Forum took place from November 22 to November 24, 2013. On November 23, a Round Table was held in the context of the Congress, entitled: "CHANCES: Investigation of risk factors affecting morbidity and mortality in the elderly - An international study in Europe and the United States". Dr. C. Bamia, Dr. P. Orfanos, Dr. N. Yiannakouris, Dr. A. Kyrozis, Dr. V. Benetou and Dr. K. Tsilidis gave presentations on "Τhe CHANCES project", "Τhe harmonization of variables and methodological indicators in the CHANCES project", "Τhe investigation of genetic factors that predispose healthy ageing", "Cognitive decline (exploring factors affecting cognitive decline in the CHANCES project)", "Τhe relationship of diet and fractures in the elderly: findings from the CHANCES project" & "Τhe quality of life as a health factor (Disability-Adjusted Life Years, DALYs)", respectively.
