The III World Congress of Public Health Nutrition took place from November 9 to November 12, 2014 in Las Palmas, Gran Canaria. Approximately 200 people attended the satellite symposium on “Risk factors for healthy aging: Insight from the CHANCES Project” held on November 10th in the context of The III World Congress of Public Health Nutrition.

Dr. A. Trichopoulou(on behalf of HHF), Mr. B. Schöttker (on behalf of DKFZ), Dr. M. Bobak (on behalf of UCL), Mr. M. O’ Doherty (on behalf of QUB), Dr. C. Bamia(on behalf of HHF) and Dr. E. Jansen(on behalf of RIVM) gave presentations on “The CHANCES Project”, “Vitamin D and mortality: meta-analysis of individual participant data from a large consortium of cohort studies from Europe and the United States”, “Folate and vitamin B12 in relation to total and cardiovascular mortality in older persons in Central and Eastern Europe”, “Repeated measures of body mass index and C-reactive protein in relation to all-cause mortality and cardiovascular disease”, “Self perceived health and its relation to all cause and cause specific mortality among the elderly” and “Biomarkers of aging and disease”, respectively.
