Project Aim:

The project aims to adopt international standards and develop tools and methodology to document   the health status of the population in Greece, towards the improvement of public health policies. To achieve this goal, data on various socio-economic variables and health indicators, as well as dietary, anthropometric and biochemical variables in a representative sample of the population, consisting of at least 4000 adult inhabitants of Greece will be recorded.

Through the data collected an information system will be created, complementary to the Hellenic Health Map, for use by the general public, health professionals and the health authorities. In this context, various disease risk factors will be ascertained, the health needs will be prioritized and public health policy measures will be proposed to confront short and long term risks.
